Hands-Free Massage with Darien Pritchard
This course is designed to address the problems that many practitioners can experience of overusing and straining their wrists, fingers and thumbs while using firm and/or deep massage techniques.
The focus is on a range of forearm and elbow techniques that can substitute for and extend the range of "classic" massage techniques when applying pressure; where and how best to use them; how to moderate the pressure applied; how to support this with good bodyuse rather than working too hard with one's arms and shoulders; and how to blend them smoothly into a massage session.
This workshop assumes and builds upon a developed feeling for pacing and fluidity in massage and adapting to the client and their responses. Its aim is to freshen the massage practitioner's approach, both by expanding their repertoire and by emphasising the principles that should be kept in mind to minimise strain one's hands.
